I believe we humans create our world, though not always with awareness, probably most of the “time” without. This painting is the awareness of that, creating this world, this dream, the marriage of ones “greater self” with one’s “earth self”. And within that lies possibility, Grace, joy, our very human beingness. The marriage of the vastness and the groundedness, spiritual and earth, higher self and smaller self. The awareness of being whole, of being fully Human Being.

I love the colors of this painting, the waves of green hillside rolling into the distance, the blue sky. Many layers of green went into this painting, I kept the acrylic paint pretty wet, doing a semi-wash over and over to create the hills. I wanted a lushness to the “earth”, an invitation, a willingness to be. I only gently sketched the outline of the hills on the canvas before applying the paint. I did the sky first, then the hills, then the two beings. Adding the sun and stars last.

When painting “I Create” I could feel the energy of it moving through me. Even now when I look at this painting I feel myself falling deeply into myself, into joy and grace.
