Other payment methods This is a powerful painting for me. The background originated from “left over” paint on my palette that I brushed on the canvas panel over the course of several paintings. It became primal and mysterious to me, and I sat with it for a long time. Then one day I picked it and the horses thundered out my brush on to the canvas. Tearing and ripping their way across the panel. The white wash was part of the background and I continued that over the horses. It feels like the end of the earth to me, or the beginning. It has such raw power. I am finding that I will paint a background and leave it that way for a long time before I finally do paint the rest. I have to reach deep sometimes, mostly I have to be willing to let out what is stirring in me without judgment... not always an easy thing.
