I really enjoy sculpting, it compliments my painting in so many ways. To use my hands to work the clay to see what arises out of a lump. Then the firing with fingers crossed, no explosions! Then glazing, will it turn out the way I imagine?

The Buffalo Totem was my first figure. I used a stain to get the rust effect and unlike the other pieces I also used acrylic paint and varnish on it, truly a mixed media piece.

So far all my pieces are very small, perhaps some day I will do something BIG. For now though I take great pleasure in working the clay no matter what the size.
